#TOTAL DRAMA CHARACTERS HOW TO# #TOTAL DRAMA CHARACTERS SERIES# #TOTAL DRAMA CHARACTERS TV# In Action, she was shoved into a villain role that she didn’t wear well, and her abuse of Duncan was so unpleasant that when Duncan later cheated on her, I managed to feel no sympathy at all for her. In Island, she basically let her team carry her for the most part. While he is attractive, his social game is a mess, his challenge skills are pretty much nonexistent, and his constant whining is really annoying. Justin is like Alejandro with everything good removed. Hey, look! It’s Leonard, but less memorable, less funny, and a girl! She’s sure to be a great addition to the Total Drama cast! Preachy and annoying vegan stereotypes are preachy and annoying. Still, after Ezekiel, that might not be such a bad thing. While the writers succeeded at that, they ensured that nobody really wants to see more of Staci. Staci was basically created just to be an unsympathetic first boot. Just three toxic narcissists who treat everyone around them like dirt. Rodney falling in love with every girl he interacts with isn’t funny, just painfully awkward. As for the gimmick itself, it’s not a sympathetic one. While the others were at least memorable, Rodney has no charisma whatsoever (though he doesn’t have Mike’s anti-charisma, thankfully). Out of all the gimmick characters of Pahkitew Island, Rodney managed to be the worst. Seriously, this guy is more dishonest than most villains, and we’re supposed to believe his relationship with Zoey is healthy? And the less said about that finale, the better. #TOTAL DRAMA CHARACTERS SERIES# And while the series has had characters that got a bit too close to that status for comfort before, they didn’t reach the level of protagonist-centered morality that Mike reaches. Simply put, Mike is a Mary Sue, or Gary Stu, as the case may be. In fact, every word out of his mouth and his entire demeanor in general just serve to convince me that he is not worth paying attention to.īut what really sucks about Mike is the writing around him. And it could be excusable if he had charisma, but he doesn’t. Not as annoying as some other characters, but just annoying enough that it grates on my nerves whenever he speaks. #TOTAL DRAMA CHARACTERS HOW TO# But wow, the writers did not know how to handle this character. But what pushed him across the moral event horizon was this line:ĭave is a toxic, evil person, and I hope he never makes another appearance. Despite wanting a relationship with Sky, he never listened to her, and acted like it was her fault when that came to bite him in the ass.Īnd all of that might have been redeemable, with enough character development. His behavior around Sky reeked of brown-nosing, and he consistently acted extremely immature around her, as well as entitled and overly possessive. While I get that Sugar and Leonard may not be the easiest people to be around, and despite Ella, Shawn, and Beardo being very nice people, their quirks may get tiresome over time, Dave frequently went too far. Dave is extremely judgmental of anyone he considers “not normal,” which is everyone on his team except Sky, even his “friend,” Shawn. #TOTAL DRAMA CHARACTERS TV# I bring this up because if Chris is not a monster with supernatural powers, the fact that he is allowed to torture the contestants the way he does on TV is disgusting.įangren was correct to rebrand Dave from “The Normal Guy” to “The ‘Nice’ Guy,” because he is very much a human version of r/niceguys. In addition, the interns that tested the challenges often died from things that the contestants just shrugged off. Blaineley was severely injured, but Courtney wasn’t. And before you suggest that Total Drama takes place in a world where slapstick rules are in effect, I’ll remind you that Courtney and Blaineley were thrown out of a plane. And even those that didn’t have superhuman strength or intelligence were able to survive things that normal people wouldn’t, such as being blown up by land mines, being burned by a volcano, or falling off the Statue of Liberty. First, there are multiple contestants who have displayed superhuman abilities. I know how it sounds, but I do have evidence. I have a theory: Total Drama takes place in the Riordanverse, the contestants are all demigods (except for Blaineley) and Chris McLean is a monster from some myth who forced heroes to fight to the death in ancient times.

“You need to know when she’s on the ice, and try and make sure she doesn’t get a shot off. That’s what we did last year,” Wimmer said. “The biggest thing is that we’re not going to take just one girl and put her on Knutson, this is a team effort. “We did lose a lot of upperclassmen, but we had a pretty solid group of freshmen and I don’t think our team has lost a lot in skill level and our upperclassmen really stepped it up this year, too,” junior forward Megan Marlowe said.įatigue played a part in last year’s title game - Onalaska was coming off a semifinal game which set a record as the longest contest in state tournament history at 3 hours, 25 minutes - but the Storm were able to slow down Knutson and the Hilltoppers, allowing just 21 shots on net and killing off all seven penalties they received. The Storm graduated nine seniors from that team, Wimmer moved up from assistant coach with Denny Drake’s retirement and with 16 players, the co-op program fielded one of its smallest squads ever.īut with the addition of three freshmen - forwards Teagen Tretter and Arielle Riedel and defenseman Michaela Zingler - the play of first-year starting goalie Lisa Fowle and an overall stingy team defense that is allowing an average of 15 shots on net per game, the Storm hardly missed a beat this season. The Storm are making their sixth straight state appearance, and have a different look than the team that beat Onalaska 6-2 last year. We want to make some history down in Madison.” When we made our goal sheet at the beginning of the year, that was the biggest goal - to defend the title. It’s easy to look at a team like Onalaska and expect them to win, and I think our girls are really happy with where they’re sitting right now.”Īdded senior defenseman Claire Poirier, “We really like being the underdog, it makes us work a lot harder and we come together as a team. “(The players) take it personally if people don’t respect them, or the way they play and the things they’ve done this year. “I think when you can come in maybe a little under the radar and without all the pressure and expectations when you are the defending state champions is rare, but I think for our girls it’s good,” Wimmer added. I know there are people out there that don’t think we’re really that good, and that’s something our girls have played with all year. “You look at Onalaska and a lot of people thought they would win it last year - they’ve got the big studs up front and can put the puck in the net. 1 pick and currently ranked third in the state. “I think it’s nice when all the pressure is not on you,” said Storm coach Jana Wimmer, whose team was a preseason No. 1 ranking and expectations into Friday’s state semifinal rematch and is led by the top scorer in the state, junior Theresa Knutson, who has an eye-popping 74 goals this season and 150 in her stellar career so far. It’s Onalaska - which the Storm beat in the state title game last year - that carries the No. The Central Wisconsin Storm might be the defending champions, but are somewhat of an underdog in this weekend’s WIAA state girls hockey tournament at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Madison.
